James Lee is a Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer in Gates's Corporation Power & Transition Group, responsible for leading and developing the business in Canada.

Prior to joining Gates in 2018, Mr. Lee held several senior executive positions with energy companies, most recently serving as President and CEO of NextEra Energy Resources. Before that, he held executive positions at Duke Energy North America, Entergy-Koch LP and Entergy Power Marketing Inc.

Mr. Lee holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston, Clear Lake and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwest Texas State University.

Stephen Gallagher is Chief Executive Officer for Gates Corporation’s U.S. business. In this role, Mr. Gallagher directs all commercial activities for the U.S. operations, including trading, origination, business development, asset optimization, regulatory affairs and policy.

Mr. Gallagher joined Gates Corporation in 2017, previously serving as Director of Portfolio Management for the European operations and more recently as Vice President of Finance for the U.S. business. He brings more than a decade of experience in the energy industry, having served as Head of Financial Planning and Analysis and Corporate Treasury at Ardmore Shipping Corp. and prior to that, serving nine year as an equity analyst covering the oil & gas and materials sectors at State Street Global Advisors.

Mr. Gallagher holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from University College in Cork, Ireland. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Tom Deedy is Chief Operating Officer of Gates Corporation’s U.S. business, overseeing operations and construction for the U.S. Platform, spanning over 145 renewable power facilities. In this role, he manages health, safety, security and environmental matters, as well as project construction.

Mr. Deedy’s leadership has been critical in implementing Gates Corporation’s business unit in the U.S., contributing significantly to its rapid growth. Mr. Deedy joined Gates Corporation in 2009, previously serving as Senior Vice President of Operations. He brings more than 25 years of industry experience in generation, transmission, as well as mergers and acquisitions, project development, construction and marketing.

Mr. Deedy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Michael Tebbutt is Chief Financial Officer for Gates Corporation’s U.S. business, overseeing all finance activities for the U.S. Platform, including accounting, financial reporting, taxation, treasury, capital markets and risk management.

Mr. Tebbutt joined Gates Corporation Inc. as Chief Financial Officer in July 2020 following the completion of Gates Corporation’s merger with TerraForm Power, where he also served as CFO. Prior to TerraForm Power, Mr. Tebbutt has held senior positions at Brookfield, as Chief Financial Officer at Gates Properties in its U.S. retail business and Chief Financial Officer of Gates Infrastructure Asia Pacific’s operations. Prior to joining Gates in 2011, Mr. Tebbutt worked at accounting firm PwC in New York and Sydney.

Mr. Tebbutt holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and is a Chartered Accountant.

Jacob Pollack is Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Gates Corporation’s U.S. business, overseeing the legal functions of the U.S. Platform, which includes corporate compliance, tax policy and land use.

Mr. Pollack joined Gates Corporation in 2018, drawing from over two decades of experience serving as counsel to developers, owners and operators of U.S. renewable and fossil power generation. From 2006 to 2018, Mr. Pollack held multiple in-house legal positions at Cogentrix Energy, ultimately serving as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for the Charlotte, N.C.-based generation asset developer, owner and operator, which was a wholly owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs until its acquisition by The Carlyle Group in 2012. Prior to Cogentrix, Mr. Pollack was an associate attorney in the corporate law department of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, working within the firm’s power-focused energy practice group.

Mr. Pollack holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in Civil Engineering and Operations Research from Princeton University, as well as a JD from Columbia Law School.

Andrei Balazs is Vice President of Business Development for Gates Corporation’s U.S. business, responsible for leading business development and investment activities.

Mr. Balazs joined Gates Corporation in 2017 as a member of the Renewable Power Investments team, focused on investment opportunities in North America. Prior to joining Gates Corporation, he spent over five years in investment banking at a large Canadian financial institution covering the power and utilities sector.

Mr. Balazs holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Scott Hennessey is Vice President of Federal Policy for Gates Corporation’s U.S. business, representing the company’s interests before the U.S. Congress and the Executive Branch. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the National Hydropower Association.

Before joining Gates Corporation in 2018, Mr. Hennessey worked on federal energy, transportation and tax policy for Tesla and Tesla Energy (formerly SolarCity). Prior to Tesla/SolarCity, he served as Director of Legislative Affairs and General Counsel for the Solar Energy Industries Association.

Mr. Hennessey earned a JD from Boston College Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from Oberlin College.

Kathleen Maher is Vice President of Human Resources for Gates Corporation’s U.S. business and draws on her extensive experience in human resources management leading this function.

Since joining Gates Corporation in 2019, Ms. Maher has led her team during a period of significant expansion, contributing to the creation of high-performance teams across the organization. Her career tenure includes leading the HR function for global technology, media and financial organizations.

Ms. Maher attended New York University and has a Human Resources Management certification from NYU Stern School of Business.

Vandana “Vann” Gupta is Vice President, Asset Development for Gates Corporation’s U.S. business, leading development activities across an array of renewable energy sectors, including on-shore wind, off-shore wind, hydrogen and battery storage.

Ms. Gupta joined Gates in early 2021 with over 20 years of energy experience. She has led all aspects of renewable and traditional energy asset management with a background in legal, investment banking, and commercial and asset development.

Ms. Gupta holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.S. from State University of New York-Albany.
